History
The company was started by V. Chidambram, B.E (Mech) and A.L. Lakshmann C.A, MS (Accounting) USA as a stock broking firm named ‘Nelliyan Stocks’ in 1995. In the year 1997, the company entered into trading business by taking the distributorship of building products division of 3M India Ltd under the name of new partnership firm ‘Shri Balaji Agencies’
For increasing the safety and security features and enhancing the operating efficiency of buildings, our company handles the products from the construction markets division of 3M, commercial graphics division of 3M, automotive after markets division of 3M, and Building Innovations of E.I. DuPont India Pvt Ltd.
In the year 1999, we started the distributorship of the following products: traffic safety systems division of 3M, commercial care division of 3M, Kimberly Clark hygiene products, and Technical Concepts odour control systems in the name of Sri Balaji Associates.

- We have received several awards from 3M for our excellence in sales.
- We have been declared as one of the top 10 distributors of 3M by Construction Markets Division in June 2000 and Automotive aftermarket Division (Car King Award) in the year 2000.
- Received "Mission Impossible" award from Construction Markets Division (SCPD & CCD) Top Performer and CCD GOLD, Automotive Aftermarket Division in 2001.
Infrastructure
The company has qualified and experienced staff to cater to the needs of the construction and building safety. Our office is spread over an area of 5000 sq. ft. with a godown space of 6000 sq. ft. and 4000 sq. ft. workshop in Chennai. Shri Balaji Agencies is rapidly expanding for serving vast clientele base. A branch office was started in Coimbatore in the year 2000 to cater the needs of southern parts of Tamil Nadu.
