Tyvek Subtex Weatherization System
DuPont™ Tyvek® Weatherization Systems provides safety from air, water and moisture to all wall assemblies. Tyvek® is polythene non-woven fabric with high density made through a special process known as flash distillation using 100% recoverable material. Due to its waterproof application and vapor permeability, extremely high strength, excellent durability and chemical resistance, Tyvek® has been widely applied to the fields including providing effective thermal insulation/under deck roof insulation to buildings and industrial sheds. Applications- These are highly air infiltration resistant, which helps to stop unwanted airflow into the building.

DuPont™ Tyvekâ Subtex Thermal Insulation System
It is a two-component system, which combines the “Insulation wool blanket” with the “Tyvekâ Solid vapor breathable membrane”. This insulation system is used as under deck roof insulation in commercial buildings and metal roofed metal buildings.
Insulation wool blanket is a moisture resistant resilient blanket. It is much lighter and safe to handle as compared to conventional glass wool/mineral wool insulation material. This blanket is widely used due to its unique moisture resilient property, and a high thermal insulation value of R-1.4 M2 W/K with 75 mm thickness and K= 0.055 W/mk.
Tyvekâ Solid vapor breathable membrane helps to prevent water penetration, while allowing vapors to escape, thereby preventing condensation and allowing incidental moisture ingress to breathe out. It has a high tear and breaking strength when compared to the conventional facing material like FSK (Aluminium Foil).
